Crashing constantly? During load screens? intel processors are bugged & that could be the culprit.

There is currently a bug with the "Raptor lake" processors:

Intel Core i9-14900KS

Intel Core i7-13700K

If you have any of those, it could be the issue with crashing or any other weird behavior from your rig. The solution to mitigate this instability seems to be either lower your core clock ratio and/or under-volt the processor.

I have the 13900k, and constantly crash on loading screens. it took 3-4 tries just to get into heist. I reduced my performance clock ratio to 50, and the efficient core ratio to 40 and I can play crash free now. in fact it runs even better than it did with the processor at "max speed", the game actually butter now.

I was also unable to play the first descendant with constantly crashing, this fix also fixed that games instability.

So yeah, just want to share. Crashing is incredibly disruptive and has driven me insane all league. I kept waiting for a patch to come out to magically fix my crashes but none of them did. Turns out it was my processor giving me hell instead of the game misbehaving.

However, for people who have 10th generation I have not seen any solution, to the continuous crashes that the game has, I have not been able to get past act 2.

-Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 main processors, 12 logical processors
-16 gb of Ram
-Microsoft 10 x64
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with Max-Q Design
-1920x1080,60Hz

Have you too tried lowering your core ratios just to see? That thread had them walk it down to 53, which maybe wasnt enough. I just went right to 50 from 55, but also lowered the efficient core from 45 to 40.

It was mindblowing the difference it made in game and out. its like playing on a fresh install again.

Yea there is something weird this patch sometimes the game hardlock the PC on loading (you can move your mouse in slow motion but you can't alt tab or open task manager) also crashing in Kingsmarch if you leap slam a lot no idea if that is related but each time i crashed in Kingmarch i was leap slamming.

Old issues like the multithreading bug is still there but not as aggressive as before cpu latency still happens but not as bad as before and performance of the game is miles better than last league in terms of optimization.

OP you are amazing, currently in the process of RMAing my cpu and constantly crashing even with the new microcode till i get my new one. The core ratios you gave were the sweet spot for me, i was crashing ever 5 mins before in every loading screen and now smooth! It is my first league too so it was fruststrating, no other posts helped. I love you for this post!
