cache_directory setting not working

Hi. I was browsing for solutions to fix issues with shader spikes when more stuff is happening on the screen.

I found a suggestion to move my shader cache to a drive different from the one on which the OS is installed. In my case both are SSDs, but still, I wanted to try.

Under [GENERAL] section I added:
"
cache_directory=D:\my\custom\path


I made the change with the PoE client turned off. I tried two scenarios - creating the directory beforehand and not creating it, leaving it to the game to create it.

In both cases, the directory remains empty. Entering, leaving, and re-entering the map resets my minimap, to not showing previously discovered areas - I'm reading it as not working correctly.

Any advice on where the issue might be will be welcomed :)
