Bad Performance with good PC (Sometimes it runs normal)
Hello there,
First of all here are my specs. AMD Ryzen 7800x3d 32 GB 6000mhz RAM RTX 4080 NVme SSD for Windows 11 SSD for anything else. My PC was build to run 120fps on 2k resolution and does so pretty easy as you can tell. But in POE since the 3.25 Settlers update it does not run anymore. When i start the game in dx12 it runs with either 54 or 63 fps. Also the performance is very bad. Playing drops the fps even further. Switching to Vulcan does the same. Switching to dx11 works for the fps. So i can run 120 fps "BUT" performance still unplayable. It goes to even 10fps in blighted maps. When performance was bad the game did downscale even the simples spells. And as i can tell my performance was always fine. Could play with 120fps no drops att all. Testing other games works just fine. (dx11 and 12) What i notice is somethimes i restart or start my pc and POE just runs normal like there was nothing. But at this time super lucky sometimes i have to restart 10 times which is no fun. Thinks i did to solve the problem -Reinstall -Install on other ssd -Rollback Nvidia driver -New drivers -Diferent Nvidia Panel Settings -Seek help in poe reddit(not very helpfull) -Testing every setting POE has to offer. (nothing makes a different) -switching networks to milan and other countries(someone said thats help) -What i do now is installing the non-steam version and test that. But so far im very unhappy and not finding any results. Ill hope someone of you can. Ive played 10000hours of this and it was never so bad. Sorry for disturbing you with my kinky perfmance issue Marc push Last edited by inc0rect on Aug 1, 2024, 8:41:40 AM Last bumped on Aug 7, 2024, 8:53:56 PM

Since you never stated what version number of Nvidia driver you rolled back to, I'll ask have you tried 552.22?
Reddit mega thread referencing numerous issues that still plague newer drivers. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1e4pjdm/game_ready_studio_driver_56070_faqdiscussion/ Nvidia 552.22 driver for your 4090 which is considered a stable version: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/224154/en-us/
Hey, did you manage to fix this? I am having the same issue and it drives me MAD

" Read this post and see if your PCIe slot is not communicating at the right speed. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3544279 (Loose card, dust in the slot, bios config issue)
" Are you stuck at 60fps as well in dx12 and vulkan only and your dx11 is not affected by this?
I'm not stuck at 60 fps, but I can clearly see my game degrading in time. From having 239 fps in my hideout when I launch the game, to having 130 fps in my hideout after 3-4 hours of gaming. It drives me INSANE and I don't know how to fix this.

" Well, you said you were having the "same" issue. The OP said he is stuck at 60FS on dx12 and Vulkan but not dx11. These issues aren't the same. I'd recommend starting a new post with your exact pc specs and drivers and any other pertinent information that could be helpful. Does just exiting your game and then starting it again fix your issue? Or do you need to reboot your pc? Last edited by ps7ekken on Aug 7, 2024, 7:28:13 PM

" I wouldn't recommend playing on uncapped FPS anyway. Cap your FPS to your monitor refresh rate, turn v-sync off and see if that keeps it stable. Running it uncapped basically means your computer is always on hyper-mode trying to get the highest possible framerate. Nobody needs 239fps to play PoE. |
