Huge frame loss, even when standing still.
If someone can help me figure out this issue. It's new to me....Game is totally unplayable.
https://imgur.com/vYOcx2R Huge lag spike every few seconds, regardless of whether I am moving or completely still. Here are my graphics settings: *Note: I do always play windowed fullscreen, but had to make it windowed to get the screenshots. https://imgur.com/qbHc4lv https://imgur.com/HPNxCxv https://imgur.com/GQKZ8yb Last edited by jsuslak313 on Jul 31, 2024, 10:44:52 AM Last bumped on Aug 12, 2024, 9:42:56 PM

Check your vsync settings....I kept getting freezes and found my vsync was set to locked. I turned it off and that helped a lot

It can be related to your processor if its an intel. Try this:
-disable everything in Advanced Settings (you should at first test with multithreading enabled and later disabled) -set Vsync to Lock (the fps should be the same from your monitor 60, 120 or 144 -set Upscale Mode to Disable Enter a place in an Act or Settler city (Kingsmarch) to check fps. Dont do it in cities because the animations of cosmetics from other players can slow down your fps Your graphics card is powerful enough and should not need Dynamic Culling & Resolution or NiS If nothing works you can try: -lower the render resolution to 1920x1080 -changing window mode to Fullscreen -check if your graphics drivers are updated to the latest version Last edited by CrisFenix on Jul 31, 2024, 2:43:51 PM

I am still experiencing very jittery gameplay.
Working perfectly and then frame drop spike. I tried all the above ideas, I tried running in 1080, 720. I tried turning every setting to the lowest possible. Nothing worked. Based on the graphs, my latency is jumping from 20-40 all the way up past 200 every few seconds. Last edited by jsuslak313 on Aug 1, 2024, 6:46:16 PM

Problem still not solved, and I can't even begin to know where to start. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it starts happening its frequent enough to render the game unplayable.
I have tried every possible setting in the game. Set everything to the lowest possible setting, used all sorts of aspect ratios, fullscreen/windowed/etc. Tested on all the engines. I am connected into a TV from my laptop via HDMI. Could that be part of the issue? How would I test that, and why would that not always be a problem? My internet connection is stable, as far as I know. And it is more than fast enough @ 300 mbps. Not sure if I should test that, or how I would even fix that. Don't notice any issues with internet outside of the game. Any new ideas would be greatly appreciated! TL/DR: 1) Every few seconds, the lag spikes obscenely regardless of which area I am in or what content is around me (tested in town, in an empty map, during content, all the same). I have no mtx of my own equipped 2) This does not always happen, and has been happening far more frequently now than in recent memory. 3) All drivers are up to date on my computer, and my hardware is more than capable of running this game in the best or near-best settings. |
