Item Filter Unique Items by Name
Hi,
I couldn't find an official stance on why item filters can't filter out unique items by name, only by base type. Ok, item filters currently can't filter any item by name and you wouldn't be able to see a unique item's name anyway, as uniques drop unidentified. That's a good reason why it's currently not possible, but certainly no reason for why this could not change. The player obviously immediately notices that Meginord is not a Mageblood because even the unidentified unique heavy belt already comes with a unique 2d art. From vendor recipes we know, that the tech for not revealing the 2d art is already available; that it is not being used to obscure the "identity" of that unidentified heavy belt suggests that it is intended for the player to know, which heavy belt it is without having to identify it first. Listing that unidentified heavy belt for trade reveals, that the trade website also already knows, it's a Meginord. Searching for Meginords will also show unidentified results. So if the player knows (and is supposed to), and the trade website knows, why can't the item filter know it as well? It's the item filters sole purpose to sift through the loot, so that the player doesn't have to, yet in the case of item bases with more than one unique it fails us. My suggestion would be to allow filtering for 2d art. It would even allow distinguishing alternate art uniques from the normal ones (not that that would currently be needed). Every league now comes with some QoL improvements, maybe this one can make it in there at some point. Item filters with a sense of art Who wouldn't want that? :) Last bumped on Sep 22, 2024, 5:21:00 PM

Seconded.
I'm trying to explain to a new player why they can't hide bad uniques and it's giving me a headache. This sort of feature would be nice. |

" I doubt it's the main reason. What you propose is next step to make game even more brainless. But I GET IT. With ground loot state GGG should go ALL IN. Make it cookie clicker all the way. On Probation Any% Last edited by Dxt44 on Sep 21, 2024, 2:03:11 PM

First if you filter out unique bases that are less than 50c (that you are supost to do after day 1), you end up getting dozens of less uniques (even with uber filter it shows alot, you can just filter <50c uniques and uniques that drop from bosses you won't ever run).
Second, if you could filter per item unique instead of unique base it would reduce all the friction from the game, you would know for sure that all the items the filter would show would be valuable ones. That would screw up the unique economy, make the game as someone said "brainless" and remove all the excitement of hovering over a heavy belt and seeing the mageblood art. Not all friction that the game has is good, but this one is absolutely necessary. Last edited by Satan on Feb 10, 1692, 10:00:00 PM Last edited by FearZGamer on Sep 22, 2024, 5:22:42 PM
