Crimson Iron Causing Crashes?

Every time I interact with a crimson iron on the world map, the game stutters for a second and then crashes to desktop. I can otherwise play without issues after switching to DirectX12 to avoid crashes on coast, but its a real bummer since you need the crimson iron to advance league content.
