War Cry / Exerted Attacks / (and Berserk) Question

How do Exerted Attacks work ?

Wiki says :

"Exerted Attacks deal 20% increased Damage"

Battlemage's Cry says :

"Exerts the next 5 melee attacks you perform"

Does this mean every time i cast war cry i have the 1st 5 melee attacks (which i hope alse includes Reave of Refraction by the tags it has right ?) even if i attack nothing with shift+skill ?

Also 20% increased dmg is not that much right ? "more" dmg is the one that actually means somthing ?!
With that said, can i PoB my exerted attacks somehow ?

Also -> Why is the War Cry Mastery "Warcries cannot exert travel skills" ?
It should be like that by desing, and the mastery should be "Warcries also exert travel skills"

And about berserk...is there anyway to make it cooldown during it's effect ?

Warcrys with an exertion component get a number on their icon in the skillbar showing how many exertions are left. Just use the desired warcry and watch out for that number, if it decreases it means the skill was exerted.
