Animate Guardian Gone

Yesterday I logged into the game and my animate guardian was gone. Friend said maybe he died, which I was almost certain he didn't, so I made a new guardian. Played more yesterday and this morning and he was there. Guardian was alive. Logged in this afternoon and he is missing again. Any help as what to do.
