Merging of console and PC accounts

Is there any updates on the possibility of merging or linking PC/Steam and console (PS5) accounts. I found some old thread from 2 years ago saying there were no plans on this but given that there's been some mentions of PoE2 supporting crossplay/progression I wagered there might be some news on this.

I've played on PS5 and spent money on MTX, stashtabs etc and I'd like to play on PC too and not have to repurchase all the MTX.
Crossplay or cross progression, ie playing on my the same character on different platforms is not important it's just about retaining MTX purchases across platforms.
