How do I log in?

I recently made the fatal error of overwriting my poe account with steam account and the email customer support was able to restore my account back.
My question is, after changing my password on the poe site how do I log into poe through steam as I did before? When I launch the game it prompts me to make a new character and when I try to login via poe it asks me if I want to connect my poe account to my steam account and I don't want to mess it up again. Hey Detahmaio,
You should be able to add your Steam account to your Main Path of Exile account by going to your Manage Connections page while logged into the website on your main account. So I go to manage connections--> secondary login connect steam? Then go through the email verification?
