Corrupting Maps Changing the Zone (No Twist of Fate)

Basically what the title says, was completing my atlas and noticed that I'd been running maps I needed the bonus for. Specifically turned a crimson temple map into a maze map after corrupting it. While searching online I found out twist of fate atlas keystone can do this but I don't have it allocated.

Very confused.

When you use a vaal orb on a map, one of the possible outcomes is that the map changes to a different map (with new mods, etc). Usually (always?) it's 1 tier up from what it started as.
