Varunastra counts as too different weapons types except for Dual Strike of Ambidexterity

Hello I wanted to see if dual strike of Ambidexterity would be better for my dual strike build but I am unable to use the skill even though other modifiers that require two different weapon types still work. With 2 varunastra equipped I get damage increases from both the dual wield mastery bonus as well as the cluster jewel notable quick and deadly.

The only difference I see in the wording between the passives and dual strike is that dual strike specifically calls out melee weapon types instead of just weapon types. If this is intended then :( but I figured I should say something.
