Do you have to purchase multiple Ant Colony Pets to summon more then one?

It says summon two or more of these to grow the colony. Does that mean I would need to purchase multiple or can I just keep summoning the same one?

One Ant Colony pet is comprised of quite a few ants, not just one. They charge around like a train, so if you had 2 Colonies, they become quite a sight :)

Ok I feel like an idiot but just so I am clear. 1 purchase is a couple of ants? 2 purchases can link together? Can more then 2 link together?

One purchase is a train of several ants. The wording appears to be that you can have 2 colonies that will join together in one giant colony. So I don't think that you can have more than 2 colonies (2 pet slots).

Hey SelixFoH! If you have more than one Ant Colony and summon them at the same time, they will create one long chain, as shown in the video here:
