I was running through the labyrinth pretty fast while manually-opening any chests and barrels I ran by as I did, I got to the golden key instance and then activated the darkshrine in that area while rapidly opening a nearby chest and then I got a loading screen to the aspirant's trial (three rooms away from where I was located) also the darkshrine didn't apply it's effect to me.

"open a portal to the next Izaro fight" is one of the darkshrine effects.

It's not a bug.
