I am jumping ips/gatewates randomly

I play on Japan realm with normal ping 38-40. I always connect to Japan (everything else is >100). Sometimes it is bad, but usuall comes back to 38-40. When the ping is high I just don't play.

And the ping is exactly like this (38-40) almost always, wysiwyg. But SOMETIMES, like once every 5-10 maps I get 300-400 ping and it is no fun. Talking about stable ping, not jumping.

It was like this for a long time. When it happens In campaign I simply restart checkpoint (ctrl+click) and it helps (can take few times, but it always works). But in maps you can't restart and it means that the map is bricked. I play ruthless and have difficulty with map sustain (which I enjoy to a point) and it hurts.

I checked Client.txt and found the answer:

"

2023/04/16 18:58:56 201527531 ca3a4dbb [DEBUG Client 6472] Connect time to instance server was 31ms

This is my normal play. Ips differ but always 165.192.75.xx/24
I usually connect to this.

2023/04/16 19:03:45 201816765 ca3a4dbb [DEBUG Client 6472] Connect time to instance server was 375ms

This is my "not normal" connection. 35.221.94.18 is bad for me.
I connect to this ~1/10 times.

So, it works great but not always for some ip range.

The quesion is -- can something be done with it? Can my account be blocked from 35.221.94.18/24? I am ok with not playing if my sever is busy. Or may be it is some error in servers routing.

If I see that my server is 40 ping on the start menu, why some instances are created with 400 ping? It shouldn't be like this.

not as far as I know. This is part of GGG "load balacing" system that when a local PoE gateway is close to max capacity it will then start making new play instances on other gateways around the world.....
i doubt this is the problem you think it is. (and one that i don't think will result in blocking an IP address)

Usually when you have a change in IP address (that results in that sort of latency) it's going to be one of 2 things.

1. the local server us full and as a result you are put onto the next nearest
2. there is a fault in JP that results in the connection not being able to go the direct route and it is bounced to America then back to go around the problem.

I don't think it is the second one, sounds more like the first.

Load balancing sounds reasonable for explanation what happens.

Should have option "don't yeet me to other servers if my server is full", but I understand why it is not here.

At least I can try to predict this.
I came back year and half and it only got worse, if then it was bad ping sometimes, now it is bad ping almost always (1 in 10 is good ping).

And why showing us ideal ping on the login page, why not show true ping?

Playing on >>100 (other closest stable) is playable but feels quite bad. You can feel it when moving items in inventory.

Oh well, bye PoE, it was fun while it lasted. And here I bought new good laptop thinking about how at last I can play poe with juiced enemies. Bought it not for poe specifically but it was definitely one of my first thoughts "yes, now I can do blight!, pure happiness, the future is here". oh well

LE showed us what a bliss is offline mode, great game, but poe maps is still the king, miss them.
