The journey, quick overview

Orb of storms + lightning tendrils is my usual league-starter during campaign. This league I took the opportunity to keep at it and push it as far as I can to get a proper endgame mapping and bossing build.

In the process of figuring out where the journey would take me I quickly dropped Orb of Storms as a secondary skill since the skill was underperforming very badly, eventually switching to getting a solid curse setup with the help of Vixen's Entrapment gloves, new Anathema ring and the new Hexbloom support gem.

Manually cast curse:
- Elemental Weakness + Hexbloom
- Asassin's Mark
- Enfeeble + Cursed Ground

Applied through Vixen's Entrapment (+ Hexbloom):
- Conductivity
- Temporal Chains
- Punishment

I started off as a life-based character with heavily leaning into damage taken recouped as life. That worked well, but not well enough. Damage spikes were still killing me very quickly. I switched to CI rather early and only had around 5k ES initially. However upon switching to CI and enabling Grace Aura the build already felt really tanky.

Defences

100% spell supression, 30k evasion, CI, Atziri's Reflection, Ignite, Poison, Stun, Bleed, Shock, Freeze, Chill Immunity, BLINDED enemies.

Weaknesses

- Physical DOT is probably the most scary source of damage since it cannot be evaded and there is no physical mitigation outside of Taste of Hate Flask that only works for hits. The past leagues I always ran big phys reduction with determination and sources of flat phys reduction. This evasive builds feels way tankier however. I think the occultist ES regen really helps.

- Hexbloom chaining costs a lot of server performance and lag spikes on explosions which made me switch to Preditive mode (watch the latency graph in the videos). Back to 2015 /oos :)

Noteworthy stuff

- Smooth leaguestarting due to non-crit lightning damage is lucky and elemental overload
- Singularity is a sick and cheap weapon for this build, it took me until level 99 to finally replace that thing.
- I fell in love with Ghost-Dance keystone passive
- Chill and Temp-Chains -> slow-motion monsters, really comfortable
- Atziri's reflection really nice option for defense and offense
- Lightning Tendrils is probably the most responsive skill out there. You press the key and the damage almost starts instantly - really nice for hit and run, or monsters that spawn delayed (like eater of worlds altar)
- Lightning Tendrils 4th pulse is really nice for ailments with the 200% more dmg boost
- Only a few map mods you cannot run (reduced aura effect, elemental reflect) - other ones are fine, even less effect of curses.
- harvest is very comfortable, frost-shield degen triggers energy shield regeneration so Wicked Ward is active when the monsters spawn in
- Disorienting Display is almost up the whole time since we cast a lot of spells per second. It goes really well with evasion and enfeeble.
- I found a enfeeble-on-hit pair of gloves in act 5 or so - it was the smoothest Occultist leveling ever :D
- You can ignore most of the Searing Exarch altar mods since many don't affect this build at all

Gameplay-Videos

For regular mapping I do use another setup that uses Haste instead of Wrath for faster movement and onslaught + phasing via Watcher's Eye. The videos are recorded with haste instead of wrath which is around 15% less dps compared to the Wrath setup.

No flasks ticked in POB, shock set to 65% and frost-shield stages set to 4. It's at 6.5M dps which needs to be multiplied by 1.25 since lightning tendrils 4th tick does 200% more damage. When punishment kicks in while the enemy is low life that's 9.8M dps. As of right now that is 8M regular dps and 12.25M low-life dps.

Any tips for 3.21? Wanna try this build on new league start and also could you make a PoB for leveling? Would be great!
Why not run cowards legacy and pain attunement if you already have Atziri's reflection in there
