Problem starting the "Contract: Trial Run"

After introducing myself to everyone in the Rogue Harbor, I got a "Contract: Trial Run" from Kurai, along with instructions to talk to Karst and Adiyah. Karst told me some introductory RPG text, but Adiya doesn't say anything. When I talk to her I only get her standard interaction box with "Prepare Heist", "Prepare Grand Heist" and "Goodbye" options. The first option ("Prepare Heist") literally does absolutely nothing; Clicking it simply closes the interaction box. The second option ("Prepare Grand Heist") shows another box where I'm supposed (I'm guessing) to put something into to progress, but was unable to put anything there (especially neither the contract nor the markers work).

How do I progress? I'm stuck with a quest item I can't get rid of and I'm ubnable continue this quest line.

Place the contract in the box that shows up when you select the "Prepare Heist" option. That should open a menu that then allows you to select Karst for that job and then open the portal.

It wouldn't show at first, but restarting the game helped. Thanks!
