Wings Wings Wings

After this many years it's finally time to ask the most important question of all:

Why are wings designed to be so rigid, often sticking waaay to far out the back of a character and almost always completely unfolded?
They look like the character is running around in t-pose.

Why not try more dynamic designs or e.g. folded wings? acting more like an embracing cloak (maybe even add that nice stretching wings animation (rarely!!!!))


Complacency seems to be running wild, not just in visuals but very much in mechanics, items, league design etc.
