Less Gaudy Equipment

Any chance we'll see more minimalistic equipment in the near future? It seems like the art direction keeps moving more and more into the realm of gaudy and I'm hoping we'll at least get to see more of a balance. Most of the recent equipment is just not appealing in my opinion.
