Creeping COC Inquisitor, a shotgun-wielding gramps

Writing this on the phone, will update when I get home.

INTRO AND TLDR
inspired by fastaf video https://youtu.be/EI3iVmgeN8c

COC Creeping frost in both chest and cospris malice. Scale both # of proj and aoe.

Stack str/int to cap crit easily.

TLDR POB and GEAR

POB (around 30ex investment)
https://pastebin.com/P0jBL3uV
7.8m sirus DPS, 4k life, 2k ES.

GEAR

BUILD MECHANICS
Creeping frost behaves like caustic arrow. It is guaranteed to explode at cursor, and while the projectile cant, the explosions can shotgun.

Trying out many ways to scale number of projectiles, I find that using volley/greater volley is better than LMP/GMP. Also, to ensure the explosions overlap as much as possible, I want to minimize the distance between firing point and destination.

So enter COC. So this build is essentially a cast on crit cospri but with creeping frost. We scale proj number and aoe size to maximize the damage.

Compared to the good ol ice nova. They do around 150% of our damage (more if we use volley), but caps at 2 explosions. We can however create 5+ projectiles that explode and shotgun.

YAY AND NAY

YAY
+ absurd single target (8m + 3m = 11m sirus dos with 10ex budget), potentially can reach 30m dps or even higher with better gear.
+ kinda tanky for having that kind of dps
+ Smooth and easy play. Just right click and hold to win
+ Satisfying explosions when properly invested

- ele reflect is non doable
- kills the fps as we deal hundreds of explosions per second (might be a plus to some folks)
- melee range so may not be best for maven fights
- clear is worse than ice nova until you get explody chest
- min max will be super fkn expensive

WHY INQUISITOR AND WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES

A few alternatives. You can go inquisitor, elementalist, occultist, assassin, scion (pf+x).

Inquisitor is probably the tankiest and cheapest to build. We go hybrid and take doryani timeless jewel to abuse the double regen.

We gain tons of inc crit, so gearing is easier. Going shield also means tankier and easier to get resist and block capped.

Pious path means we can get ele ailments immunity. So less to worry about. Flasks etc would be less hassle too.

Elementalist can get huge exposure, bigger aoe and potentially much more damage. Could be squishier. Can go CI or LL.

Assassin used to be the go to class for COC. Expect high dps but squishiest.

Scion (pf + x) is most interesting, can dual wield cospri for extra utility, indigon for op sustain, etc. There are already scion coc ice spear on poe.ninja

I will focus on the inquisitor version here.
