Pit Boss Arena Ritual unable to complete

Do not start a ritual in the boss arena if the door that closes behind you is within the ritual circle. Mobs can spawn behind the door and are inaccessible if the adds spawned by the boss BEFORE starting the ritual are not all defeated. I was forced to port out and it was impossible to complete the ritual.
