First build - advice?

Hi guys. Brand new to POE and this genre in general. Still downloading game. While waiting, found a site to build passives. Looking to eventually do a support character.

I really wouldn't advise going for a support character. Except for a few specific circumstances group play is not very common unless you're playing with friends. Support characters basically just stack a shitload of auras and expensive gear and stand around buffing others.


If you want ideas and guidance for a build (don't know if you are stuck on templar) here's a few beginner guides that even if you don't follow them, you should learn a bit about how building sort of goes.

Look around the forums, reddit, youtube etc and find something that looks easy to follow.

also two general build pointers:

-get a ton of life (unless your build is energy shield focused)
-cap out elemental resists at 75% (at act 5 and act 10 you get a resist debuff so you will need to get more than 75%, you don't need to worry about chaos resist but it's nice to have)
