VERY ESSENTIAL: PUBLIC PARTYS!! (PS4)
PoE and related games have a key feature: they are social games. Playing with people is essential at long term. Not just invite friends to private partys. I mean typical fresh partys to level up, farming, or whatever.
In my opinion, it has no sense to play PoE if I can't be in public partys with other players. I don't have any friends that play PoE and I don't want to add friends everytime to play with them. IGN: Pandemia IGN: Aqueronte (Leveling atm) Last bumped on Jun 18, 2019, 4:02:35 PM

I agree the poe should have a public mode so that you can join others instances or they can join yours, but trust me you would'nt want that in the cut-throat league

There is a feature called Playstation Communities.
In these Communitiesyou can join other Party and then join their games, you dont have to add them to you friendslist. There are Communities for many different languages, so this would be no problem, while in Public matchmaking without language filter it would. So yeah there public matchmaking would be nice but is not quite necessary. | |
Public parties are a bad thing in today's society.
At one time they were great ways to find new friends, or enjoy multiplayer when your friends aren't around. These days if you join random groups in practically any game you'll find that most of the time you have to deal with trolls, or selfish people, or children, or time wasters. Random teams is also usually a good place to find sudden unexpected severe lag, unexpected bootings and kicking, and team members dropping in and out every few seconds. And between all of this, you're being messaged from randoms constantly sending friend requests or just being generally annoying; if I play a game I generally want to be in the game playing it, not outside it responding to messages. It's years of dealing with all that shenenigans in so many online games over the years that's mostly turned me off of multiplayer modes in general. These days I won't party, as going solo seems more efficient by bypassing all that hassle. If I can avoid being online completely, I do. Having a way to manually choose such a mode would be ok, because it would allow people who want to play in such a way to do so. My fear is that if GGG implemented this it could end up being wrapped-in at the instance creation stage ie. you might find yourself unexpectedly forced into a public party if a bug occurs during area transition, or you aren't super careful around doorways. |
