Full Spectrum achievement

Can you get the Full Spectrum achievement by using an Altar of Corruption?

Yes, I just got it by using the altar to corrupt my wand. Got 3 white sockets. I know this is an ancient post but in the event someone else gets here googling the achievement I wanted to help.
