New player - Arc Totem Heirophant advice needed

Hey, I started playing PoE couple of days ago following LiftingNerdBro's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VZXA-EBOTs) Arc Totem build. It has been immensely helpful following a set build especially since I majorly cocked up my first char that I made without any knowledge. Unfortunately the videos have stopped for the time being and I'm stuck as to how to allocate Passive Skill points, what to look for in armour, which gems to go for etc. to avoid building another dud character while I'm still in learning phase.

This is my current skill tree at level 27:

Could anyone please recommend a complete guide that I can follow given my current status?

PS: While searching for guides, should the number on the left such as 3.3, 3.4, 3.6 matter too much? I suppose it belongs to major patch versions and some skills might be different between versions?

Thanks!

First of all welcome to POE.

Next time when following a build video make sure there is a follow up.
After a quick search I found this recent video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCGgIS171wo
Which has a pob linked with items and leveling tree etc.

It is very smart to follow a build guide for your first few builds (and prob even after that).

The number indicates when the build guide has been updated. Since you are a new player always follow a build that has the same number as the most recent big patch.

A lot of builds are probably still viable even if the build guide is older. However since you are new it will be very hard for you to check if they are.

Sometimes certain key items get changed so you would need to buy different gear. Or skills get a big rework which would require a totally new build.

ps: Most of the time the skill tree is the only thing that matters while leveling. Because people use other skills to level (more effective skills).
And the same goes for gear you don't actually start buying gear until you get into maps (around lvl 70). While leveling just put on whatever you find. Put on items that have a lot of life, resistances (make sure you are capped). And some mods that scale your damage a bit. Also be sure to keep updating your flasks.

I am not playing this league anymore, but I will be playing the race. Feel free to send me an in-game message if you have any questions.
