New POE player here- Finally ready to come to the forums
As everyone knows this game is quite overwhelming. Several years I ago I attempted to play but couldn't get into it. This time around I am hooked! I decided to just play the game opposed to spening hours watching guides on things I have no idea about. Now that I've played about 100 hours I would like the advice of those here on the forums. I am currently working through my atlas and have only run into one boss that was hard. (Corrupted Lair the 2 wolves buffed 65% hp and dmg) Other then that things have been good. I found 3 exalts early on and that helped a lot! I bought a new bow with them and have used about 40 regrets so far. Most regrets were used to change to Pathfinder which is find to be amazing for labs/ maps .. and well everything. Flasks are so good in this game. I am currently saving up for Dying Sun Flask and working on the Atlas. Please look at my character and when talking about something pls be specific I don't know all the lingo on this game yet. For example just today I learned about tiers on items and how low ilvl weapons cant have tier 1 things. I made the mistake days ago of trying to make a weapon but failing to notice it was item lvl 70. Thanks a lot for taking a look at my character.

You first have to go to your settings on the forums and make your characters public (in privacy settings), otherwise nobody sees them.
Regarding tiers: Tick 'show advanced item descriptions' in you UI settings ingame. Then, when you press ALT while hovering over an item, you see the exact tiers and ranges of mods. I recommend not trying to craft until you have a solid grasp on the mods and so on, because even with that knowledge you can easily waste tons of currency. Exception is Fossil Crafting. For getting the correct fossils use http://poedb.tw/us/mod.php?cn=Delve and just play around with it a bit. You should soon notice, that the important mods on fossils are 'no $x mod' (no elemental mods, no poison, and so on), that way you can significantly reduce the mod pool, increasing the chance of getting your desired mods. For crafting, always use an itemlevel 85 item, as those can roll all mods. For most slots, being shaped or elder is useful as well. Other than rings and belts, people don't really buy unshaped/uneldered rares anymore, because the elder/shaper mods are ridiculously OP. |
