Landorak's Tectonic Slam Juggernaut (League starter / Budget) BEGINNER FRIENDLY

Welcome word :

Spoiler
Hello friend ! Do you miss the good old Diablo 2 hellfire torch ? Well look no further for Tectonic slam is for you ! Tectonic slam is an attack that , once slammed into the ground, spread a floor of crackling flames and lava upon your enemies. Consuming an endurance charge improves the area of effect and the damages of Tectonic slam. Who says endurance charges says THICC JUGGERNAUT. Going away from the usual ''insert meta skill'' builds, this build will allow you to truly enjoy the smell of your roasting enemies.

Pros and cons :

Pros
- Budget build (Few uniques which can be replaced by rares if you lack currencies)
- Decent clear speed
- Good single target
- Tanky (Juggernaut ascendancy)
- Beginner friendly
- Off-meta (or soon will be ?)

Cons
- You are close to you enemies most of the time (Easier to look them in the eyes while they die)
- Reflect maps are not recommend since you are doing both elemental and physical damage at the same time
- In very bad luck, you could run out of endurance charges and be vulnerable for a short moment.(But it rarely happens and when it does, you have a nice health pool and a good armor amount)

Path of building (Heavily recommended):

Spoiler
https://pastebin.com/XkYgQkkR

In the PoB, you have the different leveling trees (bottom mid-left to select)

You also have access to the base version of the gear and the expensive version

Mechanics :

Spoiler

What is Tectonic slam :

You slam into the ground making a cone of crackling flames and lava in front of you. If you you have an active endurance charge, you will consume it increasing the area of effect and the damages of the attack.

Now to fully use this attack, we must generate as much endurance charges as possible. The juggernaut ascendancy is ideal for us since you have 25% chance to generate your maximum amount of endurance charge every time you generate a single charge.

Our endurance charges are then used for offense and defense. Offensively for feeding TS (tectonic slam) and defensively to provide us with tons of physical damage reduction and other cool stuff.

You are ready for any goatman leaping on you.

Leveling :

Spoiler

(Skip to the end of the section if it's not your first time).

You just woke up on the beach of Wreaclast and you are wondering what to do with that nice stick you found on the ground.

Alright, you will want to grab Ground Slam from Tarkleigh and link it in your stick with the Ruthless support you found on the beach. From there, you can use this setup to easily complete Act 1.

You can also grab Leap slam in Act 1, it will vastly help you in going through ledges and others (doors and some walls).

Once level 12 : You can grab Sunder from Nessa in Lioneye's watch and replace Ground slam with Sunder.

In act 2, try to find a 3-link armor/weapon. Easily found while looting or you can buy one from the vendors (if they have one). With that 3-link, you will use Sunder with Added fire damage support and Melee physical damage support.

Grab Herald of Ash from questing and you should be good to go for a while.

Upon reaching Act 3, you will be given Tectonic Slam (lvl 28) but don't be tempted to use it already. Keep going in the Act until you have level 31+ then complete your first Labyrinth. Upon completion, you can get the JUGGERNAUT ascendancy and get Unflinching (Main source of endurance charges). You can now switch Sunder for this sweet Tectonic Slam and begin roasting your enemies.

In Act 4 at level 38, you will be able to get a Cast when damage Taken - Immortal call setup. With your good amount of endurance charges, it will be very effective. You can look into the Path of building to see what support to use with your TS.

Veteran leveling guide :

Uniques :
- Goldrim
- Tabula Rasa
- Lochtonian Caress
- Wanderlust
- Praxis 2x (Or crafted Elreon ring)
- The eagle 2x
- Limbplit
- Brightbeak 2x (you will run out of endurance charges)
- Rare 2H maces with good Pdps until level 65 for Tidebreaker.

Just grab Ground slam / Sunder (lvl 12 ) and shove as much support as you can in you tabula and run with it until you get to first lab. Then get Tectonic slam and go until you've run out of enemies.

Bandits :

Spoiler

You can help Oak or kill them all.

I prefer helping Oak but there is only a very thin difference between the two.

Ascendancy :

Spoiler

Juggernaut

Normal lab : Unflinching (for insane endurance charge generation)
Cruel lab : Undeniable (Accuracy + strong damage buff
Merciless lab : Unrelenting (Tankier since at this point you begin maps and
resists might be a problem)
Uber lab : Unyielding (More damages)

Gem links :

Spoiler

Look in the Path of building for the gem links.

You can use Multistrike for clearing and swap it for Fire Penetration on bosses. You can also keep Fire penetration in all the time for a tankier option since you will have higher charges in fight.

Also, concentrated effect is good for bosses but you can swap it for increase aoe for maping for else.

Pantheon :

Spoiler

Maps : Grutkulh, Lunaris
Lab, guardians : Tukohama, Solaris

Gear :

Spoiler

Uniques :
Spoiler

Tidebreakers (lvl 65) is a very good 2H Mace for this build. Gives us extra damages from endurance charges and good Pdps. Also add level 20 endurance charge on melee stun giving us more charges to work with.

Veruso's battering rams are nice gloves since they gives us +% damages for each endurance charge, attack speed and slight movement speed increase.

Perseverance is a good belt for the almost perma-fortify it grants us throught our melee stuns. It also provide us with Onslaught which help clearing speed.

Note that none of these uniques are mandatory and can be replaces with rare items.

Look for rares with Life / Armour / Elemental resistances on them.

Flasks :

Spoiler

Lion's roar is a must for our build.

Atziri's promise is a great damage increase.

Get a nice life flask, a quicksilver flask and a sulphur flask for burst damages.

You can also buy a Taste of Hate but it is very expensive.

Tips and tricks :

Spoiler

In early league when everyone's broke, you can use the following vendor recipe to get a nice Pdps weapon : 1 Blacksmith wetstone, 1 Normal/Magic Rustic sash and a weapon. It will then give you a magic weapon with +% Physical damage. You can then use an orb of augmentation to add another modifier.

Forget elemental reflect map because you will die.
Also avoid no leech / regen maps because they're annoying.

Avoid getting in the lab without flasks to immune to Burning / Bleeding.

Good luck and have fun in Wreaclast, Exile !

Ok, a few things.

1) Your tree is a mess. You have Undeniable and Resolute Technique; that's a no-no.
2) You're missing life nodes and jewel slots that are 0-1 away. You have zero jewels.
3) I'd generally recommend more life.
4) If you're going Physical to Fire, I'd suggest convert fully to Fire, and use Fire Pen in your 6L. This also means adding Warlord' Mark to the Blasphemy setup, which requires corrupting your Amulet with Enemies can have +1 Curse. (Stopgap: Doedre's ring, Windscream)

4) Physical to Fire with Resolute Technique? Chieftain is your friend, it has inbuilt Leech. Not that much less tanky, and you fully convert Tectonic Slam to fire without Avatar of Fire. Chieftain loses some damage for whatever reason, at least in PoB. Maybe because it doesn't scale so well with Tidebreaker and Veruso's?

If you want to stay a Jugger (and use Undeniable), better path to Elemental Overload instead.

5) I'd recommend a Fire Penetration swap for bosses, replacing Multistrike.

Here's a mockup I just made in PoB by revamping the skill tree, corrupting the amulet for +1 curse and adding 4 phys/fire murderous eye rare jewels:

https://pastebin.com/SGxKY7NK

Results (with expensive setup) are a minor DPS increase (which becomes not so minor if we can make room for a Herald of Ash as well) and almost +1400 life.

Oh, and with full fire we can do phys reflect maps npnp, only elemental reflect wrecks us.

Yeah I saw the Resolute technique mistake after posting the thing. I'll correct it for sure.

I didn't realise that going full fire would be so much easier on the tree cuz then we loose all the small maces nodes thus giving us wayyy more life.

I originally thought about going Chieftain but with Tectonic Slam you tend to loose your charges really quick and thus need a very high generation rate which is best with Juggernaut.

I'll look into this and revamp the whole thing.

Thanks !
