feedback on a theoretical build

i really enjoyed playing a whispering ice build, but i never had the highest energy shield gear, so with the changes to energy shield lowering max es and the change to vaal pact no longer affecting es, i was thinking i might try a life based templar. i keep hearing that firestorm is no good, use fireball instead. but path of building shows me some pretty awesome damage, better than what i normally see from whispering ice builds. here is what i was thinking

rings: heup, or rares (rares give more life, heup gives better dmg)
amulet: rare amber amulet/carnage heart
gloves: rare fingerless silk gloves (spell damage)
boots:rare two-toned boots
helmet: rare royal burgonet
belt: rare leather belt

i put minimum tier 1 rolls on my items and minimized the rolls on the unique items, and my results were these at lvl 90:

life: 5997
ES: 268
mana: 900 (540 reserved, leaves me 360)
damage:10.561 per hit
armour:4165
capped resists

so what do the more informed people think if this idea? is it viable? and by viable i mean, is shaper somewhat feasable?
