Beta Times are almost over
Don't you feel like all the Poe we have ever played was just a "beta" game which inspired by D2; something that evolved, got developed for 4+ years to in hope to finds its own character. For example, This whole cruel-merciless thing was a heritage from old D2 times, the heritage which i would like to call as bullshit. since 3 years all i see is fixing graphic engine, base programming changes, skill programming changes and shit like that.
and after 3.0, i think a new era of poe will start, something which has totally left D2 behind, throwing/trimming only few fun & good elements of it. There might be time to fix pvp too in future. Just for this reason. Poe's beta time is over. This is going to be the actual release. "You have great power. You're right to be proud. I think the whole argument of removing cruel is just kinda like, dumb. idk I don't really mind cruel difficulty all that much, doesn't feel that much harder than normal, it's just an extension of normal, then merciless is just NG+. Not sure how the difficulties and Laby are gonna work if they remove cruel though...
Either way, I'm glad to see graphics changes and all that shit because truth be told, POE looks really good for what it is, but with that comes performance issues. Remember, they built the graphics engine from scratch since they liked how it handled shit, especially the randomized maps and stuff. I know tried and true engines like Unreal, Unity, or Source would probably pull off graphics just as good, or maybe even better, but it probably wouldn't feel right, and switching to a different engine would probably cause more problems than it'd fix. The performance issues, namely desynch, were massive problems to deal with early on, and everyone loved seeing those get fixed. Until the game runs flawlessly, I think they still have a ways to go regarding performance vs graphics. I can honestly say I've died more to performance issues more than anything else, other than shitty one-shot deals, reflect, failing at general gear checks, reflect, and reflect. But performance is a big factor, especially because AOE is the way to play, and some skills are heavy on particles, like icestorm. Or some just cause FPS drops like nobody's business, like Kinetic Blast, which is really problematic for all three people who use that fucking skill. Lavender or Leave.

No, I've always thought of poe more like Diablo 2 with fair representation for spiders. I mean they were there in D2, but they looked like shit and sucked ass. Don't even get me started on Diablo the original, virtually no spider representation at all, despite navigating four environments widely dominated by invertebrate with key predatory rolls fulfilled by spiders. Poe brought spider representation to this formula.
That being said, the next step would be allowing for a playable spider class, I'm aware we're getting some kind of spider god in 3.0, which is also nice (not really, her blessings suck). I suggest cannibalizing the ranger for this, the shadow may be more appropriate but removing ranger for spider would be hilarious and more progressive. I am really excited about having 10 different acts rather than repeating 4 acts 3 times.
This cuts out 2 acts in the leveling process and makes each act different. For a guy like me who absolutely HATES making new characters, it's perfect. I despised having to redo the same content 3 times. I've given up on PvP getting any sort of attention. The XBox trailer made zero mention that PvP was even a thing. So we can forget about it. Just accept that this game is PvE and enjoy it for what it is cause it's a damn good PvE game. I'm excited to see the new items, excited for the legacy league, excited for 3.0. Every time I get to a point where I think I'm done, they draw me back in with more stuff. Not many games have managed to do that. But yea with all the engine fixes, the new act formula, the xbox release... it does feel like we're about to finally finish a super extended beta (In which the design team decided to remove PvP entirely) lol Crit Shockwave Totem 650k +: #1657327 / Crit VMS (1 mil DPS): #1511368 / Crit self-cast spark: #1565708

guys the problems they were fixing were really big, primal problems, while having such huge problems trying to fix pvp was really bad idea.
when i look to the past, i see very major changes in game structure, game design and balancing. I've never followed pve content carefully, one of you can find more objects to talk about what fixed and what not but let me start with some examples; desync, spell shotgunning(some of it), long opening time of the game, game upgraded to DX11, most of in game economical problems and monopolies got fixed(zana, drop rate changes, eternals more and more), legacy league will keep solving the problem; they added more mechanics and making them balanced took so long. we have only double dipping left to be fixed. using the mechanics borrowed from D3, which are totally outdated and replacing them something from their own style: like the most recent 3 difficulties gonna be replaced with 10 acts. thats a great idea. and that was the main reason i was getting bored of starting new leagues. there are shit loads of stuff they started out like D2 did and changed afterwards. i will and can add more. when you look at these problems, they are so big that they could make the game end up like any other game who got abandoned by their players because of problems that devs couldnt fix and got forgotton in no time afterwards. but they didnt end up like this and totally the opposite. these problems could be lethal and they worked on them. i think they will relax slowly now and focus on late game. we'll see. Rup I think removing eternals made the monopolies far worse. If other people had the opportunity to throw eternals at items like the old days we'd see more than a handful of guy with mirror service as well as less requirement for mirror services.

Old mirrored gear is gradually getting phased out mirrored gear in general is a newb trap. Only dumb shits mirror gear when they can get stuff very close for a fraction of the cost while retaining socket control/enchantments. Ahfacks axe is only slightly better then Disfavour in the regard that it has more attack speed, beyond that can you justify the Exalt difference? As far as this game and "beta phase" It'll never be out of that phase until the day the servers shut down. They add too much stuff at once while at the same time doing virtually nothing to right the existing wrongs. Like having two guys next to a shit heap. One with a children's shovel (taking from the heap i.e balance). The other with a snow plow pushing more on top (new content, counter-productive to balance). Accept this game for what it is. Accept you're all fucking bums holding on to false hope. Accept the fact if you got what you wanted (balance in PvP), you'd get your ass beat so bad you'd quit.

" Rofl. Says the resident bum. PvP can't be taken seriously in this game. It's a 100% PvE game now, but at least it's a good one. I figured you only hated PvP, but it seems you hate the PvE too. " Um what? It sounds like you're saying you're the absolute most skilled player on PoE and that if pvp was balanced we would all be your bitches, and that if somehow you lost to one of us, then the game is not balanced. I agree for chests, boots, gloves, helm etc 99% of the time it's not worth mirroring. But for legacy amulets and weapons to the 6th mirror ables are not a noob trap imo. They are leaps and bounds better than the next best thing. IGN - Xukai Mirror Service - /1046531 Last edited by trav_dawg on Feb 19, 2017, 4:48:41 PM

" You know honestly, if you need some tampons, you could ask your wife for some. Getting my ass handed to me was a constant in PVP but I stuck with it regardless. I made my characters change into something better BECAUSE of it. Just because you got killed a shitton with unfair and almost abusive mechanics, doesn't mean all of us are going to just up and quit like you. Some of us stay with the game because, despite whatever minuses POE has going for it (like the power creep), it still keeps us hooked one way or another. I don't see how I, someone who plays pretty fairly, would quit if the playing field was leveled. I think the people you're talking about are tryhards like HomeSeeking and AmazonPrime, and there's a very clear distinction between players like them and the rest of us, and it'd really help your case if you clarified that, rather than just lambasting the PVP player base as a whole.
