Hey there,
I think the conversion is not worth it and any other warchief totem will be better than this one but if you're tired of those generic builds and want to try something different give this a try. I won't get into much detail and I'll try to keep this as short as possible.
How conversion works?
We convert 100% of our lightning damage to fire by using a Call of the Brotherhood, Cold to Fire gem and Avatar of Fire.
Call of the Brotherhood 50% of Lightning Damage Converted to Cold Damage Cold to Fire 50% of Cold Damage Converted to Fire Damage Avatar of Fire 50% of Cold Damage Converted to Fire Damage 50% of Lightning Damage Converted to Fire Damage
Passive Tree

You can get Whispers of Doom for +1 curse. Bandits: Kill, Kraityn, Oak/Kill
Why Chieftain?
Ngamahu, Flame's Advance
35% increased damage against Burning Enemies. -We can use Fire Trap instead of Vortex in our gem setup to reliably benefit from this buff. Hinekora, Death's Fury Damage Penetrates 10% Fire Resistance. 1% of Fire Damage Leeched as Life 1% of Damage dealt by your Totems is Leeched to you as Life Ramako, Sun's Light 0.5% of maximum Life Regenerated per second per Endurance Charge. -Gives us (2-3)% Life Regen with maximum charges. Cannot be Ignited. -Helps with our energy shield recharge not getting prevented. When you or your Totems Kill a Burning Enemy, 20% chance for you and your Totems to each gain an Endurance Charge. -A passive Enduring Charge generation, not reliable to drop self-cast Enduring Cry but helps, also keeps the totems tanky with providing all resist and physical mitigation. Arohongui, Moon's Presence Enemies near your Totems deal 8% less Damage Enemies near your Totems take 16% increased Fire Damage. -This is a multiplicative effect, 16% 'more' fire damage. And the minor skills gives us 2% life regen, 30% fire damage, 10% totem placement speed.
Gear
Call of the Brotherhood
Hand of Wisdom and Action 6L Armour/ES hybrid or a Vaal Regalia but good luck on getting RRRRBB. Cheap alternative is a Geofri's Sanctuary. With the amount of strength we have, this will be equivalent to a 400 es chest and will save us 2 points on tree. Rest of the gear is rares with a significant amount of es, int and resists. Gem Setup
6L: Ancestral Warchief + Weapon Elemental Damage + Cold to Fire + Added Lightning Damage/Elemental Focus + Fire Penetration + Concentrated Effect/Increased Area of Effect

I am thinking about doing something similar with my HoWA gear. And I found this post. Did you ever test this idea? Warchief only attacks with main hand, but I suspect that the added lightning damage bonus of using 2x HoWA will still apply. |
