Rangers overpowered?

I made a level 28 PVP-only ranger to do an arena daily, since it said I had to use ranger, marauder, or witch and my essence league characters were everything else. Now I knew that a lot of the PVPers in PoE are fairly weak, which is probably because they're not really PVPers and are just completing dailies.

But my ranger is performing a little too well. And when I say a little...



Please understand that I am not here to brag. I am not very good at PVP. I have a fair bit of experience doing PVP back in Diablo 2, but I've always been pretty lousy at it in general. I'm moderately good at Path of Exile, certainly nothing to brag about.

But I'm winning most matches easily, often against players who, by their movements, clearly know how to PVP. Players who move around a lot, are difficult to hit, use good skill gem comboes, pop their potions at the right times. Even level 28s with PVP in their character name.

So far I've met one who could steamroll me and maybe eight good PVPers who at best could beat me sometimes.




So I suppose you want to know what special elite gear I'm using, eh? Here it is:


No helmet, no gloves, white bow, chest, and boots. Unique belt and quiver I found. Rare rings and amulet from my stash.

Skills:
Ice Shot, Caustic Arrow, Puncture, Siege Ballista.




Are PVPers really that bad in this game or do rangers need to be nerfed? Or am I better than I thought I was at PVP?

I would more say come to standard.

I doubt there is serious pvpers in temp leagues and when I see the LLD porn thread I can tell you would get WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY harder fight in lld standard pvp if those guys still play.

However about ranged/other builds, yes ranged in general are way too strong in this game.

That was actually how we called ourself with 3 of my guildies when FM droped with Tornado Shot and we all crafted some average harbringers and murderer the game.

Oddly enough, shortly after I posted this I started meeting with folks much better at PVP. I got creamed quite a few times since I posted this. It reassured me I'm not crazy and also not a paragon of PVP. But perhaps I'm better than I thought I was, so that's good, too! All in all, I am happy now. =)
