Minion Instability

How to survive Minion Instability? Iam a melee duelist.
My friend has 8 zombies.
They hit like trucks and if I kill them ( 1 or 2 hits needed ) they explode for massive damage.
Some ways to conter that?

Raise your max fire resist or don't kill the summons. MI is secondary damage wich mean that you can't avoid them AT ALL.

You'll either have to go straight for the minion master, without using melee splash or multistrike, killing him before his minions kill you. Or it's usually easier that you kill the minions (+master) from outside the minion explosion range. I suspect ground slam + knockback + increased aoe (if needed) + support gems of choice will do the trick.

If you can significantly change your equip: increase max resists with swappable shields (rise of the phoenix/saffell's frame) + get a ton of life regen + carry ruby flasks.
