[ LLD ] Cyclone
Cyclone is still dominant over any other melee skill available, i've seen people get destroyed against me using heavy strike vs heavy strike and then killing me when swapping to 4l cyclone, this clearly makes no sense. ( this is mostly when using swords )
Facebreaker cyclone still does way too much damage, you cant even stand close to it as a melee character unless you are using facebreaker cyclone yourself. It really makes no sense to even try to go close combat as another melee when facing these, i've seen my 1.5k+ hp drop down in a matter of 1 second when trying to heavy strike them. This is simply impossible to sustain unless you're running 5x panick flasks and that's very unpractical against every matchup. Cyclone might suck against kiting ranged builds compared to heavy strike, possibly the only upside to using heavy strike really, but still outdps it by far even on a 6l heavy strike compared to 3-4l cyclone. Unused melee skills like double strike, frenzy and some other ones need to be buffed so the meta changes, cyclone has been dominant for way too long already. I've been using heavy strike since s2 start and i can tell that it's a balanced skill, cyclone is really not balanced even after the nerfs it had, this is not even bringing out the fact that cyclone breaks traps and gives stun immunity. I think cyclone still needs to be toned down to bring out more unused melee skills into the meta, right now it still makes no sense to not use cyclone and i'm even nerfing myself by using heavy strike in most of my matchups. Completely agree with this. When I saw it only got a 10% nerf I about died. I was expecting a 20% nerf at LEAST. It is still the most popular melee skill among the top player. Being an almost armor based character, facebreaker cyclone still does over 1.5k damage in less than a second. It is ̶a̶l̶m̶o̶s̶t̶ impossible to even use flasks when I die that fast.

I dont necessarily think cyclone is too good. Facebreaker is the only application where it actually deals a lot of damage and even then it is possible to beat it with pure melee if you use some stuff cleverly and also have good gear.
Being a shadow helps a lot in this matter too because you can bear trap for a decent amount of time. Marauders and duelists cant really do that. FB cyclone wasnt the best melee vs melee build even in season1 before the patch and it certainly isnt that now. | |
Facebreaker builds are slow and do not have any movement. So why shouldn't they outdamage heavystrike builds who can just hit and run. Lapiz has shown it in season 1 how to deal with cycloners. See it in a whole context and do not compare both damage sources.

To be honest I don't even think its the damage as much as it is the inability to stun/freeze someone mid cyclone. If they enabled cycloners to be stunned or affected by anything else that would impede their cyclone then it would be very easy to counter and would not be as big of an issue as it currently is.

Many other things need adjusting before cyclone is adjusted again. How often is it winning swiss? How often is it winning blitz events? Seriously dont complain about it being strong in general. What is the goal of balancing? Are we balancing for swiss, 3v3, blitz, or ffa? What is our goal with balancing? Cyclone isnt winning shit so theres no reason to screw it even more. Adjust stun from heavystrike which breaks many builds without stun immunity and then maybe people wont need cyclone. I hope cyclone > Heavy strike for ever. HS is the most fucking troll skill in the game with how badly it desynchs builds without cannot be stunned.
