[LLD] Molten strike was not nerfed enough
It is still over any other melee skills in the game, take two guys equally geared as melee, one using any other skill and the other one using molten and molten is going to win no matter what the other skill is.
A melee skill that u can have free bouncing projectiles that does 130% of base damage 60% of phys to fire with 40% less damaging balls is overpowered. You can even link firepenetration to it and it's a freaking melee skill. How is any other melee skill going to compete against this ? Heavy strike does 150% of base damage, 20% more than moltenstrike, but it doesnt add projectiles and you cannot use firepen and it does not convert anything to elemental. I would actually like if this retarded skill was never actually introduced in the game, it breaks every melee meta rule. 2k HP looks like a thousand against this skill, real talk. I refuse to believe you guys are that blind at pvp balancing. GGG should base their balances over experienced pvpers that actually care about pvp, not some 2 week starter reddit ****** that gives innacurate feedback with shit settup/gear. Who is balancing this PvP ?, who the hell are the alpha testers, i bet 90% of them arent even real pvpers but casual players coming from PVE. If it was me, pvp would be balanced in less than a f***cking week, it's soooooo easy to see what is broken and what is not. CC nerf was good i give you that, but other than nodes you guys are totally unable to balance skills properly I remember the day i made the broken HLD RF build, and then it got nerfed and you will never see this skill in PVP again. It looks like you guys either dump skills ten feet deep or you dont nerf them enough a keep them OP. Nerf molten strike again or you will never seen any other melee skills than this being used in LLD. Coming from a guy that has been pvping in your game since 2011 now, you should actually take this seriously for once instead of listeling to people who cant test and balance stuff properly. 10% decreased is nothing, 10% less and we are talking
It's hard to remember what you have forgotten

There's not a huge problem if a certain melee skill that "any" weapon can use, is performing a little bit better than other ones.
So let's, they change the dps numbers and heavy strike deals exactly the same dps even in the case that the opponent is dumb enough that sits in molten strike projectiles for ever. Now, you've got a skill that can only be used with certain types of weapon and has the most overpowered (in lld) utility as known as stun and further more it deals full damage (again in lld) since its pure physical damage. on the other hand, daggers can only use molten strike with out any special utility at about 25% effectiveness due to resistances. If you think the skill is stronger than other melee skills then just start using it. there's no restriction in term of the weapon you can use. And why not combining molten strike with another melee skill like heavy strike and use them as the same time. |

Physical to lightning and penetration gems make any melee skill a whole new animal. Though molten strike is still a really solid skill, I honestly think static is the better of the two. Molten IMO is the defensive less offensive heavy one while static is the more offensive less defense as far as use and design go. Statics at what 20% reduced now and moltens 15? Maybe throughout the season they'll tweak molten another 5-10%.
Isn't like half your guild in alpha? GGG, the ADA of gaming....huuuur i gotz mai skilz. IGN: MullaXul Last edited by MullaXul on Feb 3, 2015, 2:45:43 PM

None of the changes actually changed anything, 10% (in freezing pulses case 5%) dmg reduction are nothing compared to how strong these skills are! The biggest nerf was probl the reduction of the clever construction duration, but even that one isnt too bad! Both, molten and cyclone (same for traps and freezing pulse) need a way higher reduction to make other skills actually comperable to them! Atleast imo...

I have a theory for why molten strike is so good.
Before the major PvP-lld patch, all damage types went through the same formula; the larger the hit, the more it gets reduced--basic diminishing returns. Now fast forward to now; there is a separate damage formula for elemental damage and physical (I'll ignore chaos damage for this example). Molten strike has its damage split into 40% fire and 60% physical. Before the pvp patch, Molten strike would have had its entire damage put into a single formula, and if the damage was high it would suffer from diminishing returns. After the pvp patch, Molten strike's damage goes through 2 formulas; the elemental damage formula and the physical damage formula. Since the overall damage is divided between two formulas, the fire damage and physical damage suffer much much less from the diminishing returns. Therefore Molten strike is able deal damage much more efficiently. IGN: Beardedwizzard

If you want to die fast, walk over a crit puncture trap with pointblank. Can't believe it wasn't nerfed in anyway.
