suggestion for LLD gearing system

A large complaint players can have about pvp is the difficulty to get geared. Many people don't want to spend their pve currency on pvp, and many hardcore pvpers can be disappointed to have to pve when they would be rather pvping.

GGG already has the perfect system waiting to be used to help people gear for pvp. The master crafting system is perfect for a high amount of customization on gear.

My suggestion is basically that you would gain a pvp-specific currency from pvp, that could be used to buy mods through masters. This pvp gear would not have a limit on the amount of masters mods available. This would be the primary way to gear your pvp characters. In pve the masters are suppost to be a way to get good gear, but not top gear, and traditional crafting is the way to get the highest tier of gear. I DON'T think this should be true of pvp. Pvp character should be able to get top tier gear through pvp.


I also believe the master levels could be a great way to introduce gear progression. so lets say at a lvl 1 master, players get blue gear, with a max of 2 master crafted mods. these mods would also be 2nd tier of pvp. each mod for each piece of gear would need to be purchased with the pvp currency. at level 4 master you could get gear rare gear with 6 tier 2 mods, and at lvl 8 master you could craft gear with a full 6 top tier mods.

you could also use the master system to buy the LLD uniques. just like uniques show up at lvl 8 masters right now, doing your pvp master daily could sell LLD uniques that were purchasable with your pvp currency.

This is a very good idea, in my opinion. However, this completely separates PVP from PVE which I don't think GGG wants. I think the idea is that your success in PVP should depend on your gear hunting from PVE, apart from your skill in PVP.

I think a system like this, or a system like Descent Champions where everyone can choose from the same set of gear could be implemented alongside the current system rather than replace it. You could for example make tournaments or small events that do either or.
