Why aren't you incentivizing PvPers properly? Who cares about PC accessories?
This is an item game. Why aren't there in game item rewards for PvP? Can anyone here name ONE successful MMO ( barring SC2 and Dota styles ) that did PvP over the last 10 years and didn't have in game rewards readily available? I can not think of anything less appealing than to reward people with stuff that they can buy. Frankly I think most of us would walk by a lot of what I saw in a store.
This is an item game. People that like getting items play it. Give them items for PvPing. Turn Leo's decoration section into a PvP gear reward section. Use your heads on this one before people just entirely forget it exists. Last edited by Selminus on Dec 27, 2014, 11:25:32 AM

For once a post by Selminus I can agree with.
But please don't put random rares or blues, rather put LLD uniques that people can work towards. There shouldn't be BiS rares or uniques available for points as this leads to the "only the winners get stronger" vibe, but rather facebreaker-esque uniques that are build enabling and can lead to more specific LLD builds that require a unique you can work for if you just keep pvp-ing.
so alt art items are not incentive enough for you?

Alt Art stuff is incentive to race yes, but what we're talking about here is incentive to PvP in general.
Also having item rewards that you can actually use or have unique rewards that you can get WITHOUT competing in pvp events, but rather with leo reputation, can be beneficial to the LLD scene.
I feel expecting pvp rewards to be all based on lld pvp or pvp is a very high expectation. Not everything is useful or should be used in pvp if you want a decent character.
It does make sense if you want to draw in that audience but for someone like me, I honestly do not care a single bit if I can use the reward in pvp or not. The rewards will run out if it has to be viable in pvp. :P
I'm with you guys on this. Aside from the PvP season events, there is literally no incentive to play PvP at all aside from leveling Leo.
Also, almost everyone has some level of performance anxiety. This is often brought out in competitive events, especially 1 v 1 dueling. Many players may lose interest because they don't want to be looked down on for having a poor ladder rating or because they don't want to lose their current position by losing a match. It would be nice (and probably attract more players) if there was a casual pvp matching system that didn't track your rating, or if players were given leo reputation simply by finishing a round of PvP, even if they lost. Giving reputation for playing in the arena could help here too to some extent (would probably have to have a daily cap). A reasonable player typically would not want to lose both their time and pride for something with little to no reward. Theorycrafter/Build Creator for PORTAL guild

I think the main difference between race rewards and pvp rewards is that one requires currency investment while the other doesn't.
Racing you don't need anything to do it. You just make a character and go. This is easy and fun for newer players. No strings attached. Just simple join in and go. For PvP you need to invest both time and currency to make a good character that will be successful in PvP. This creates a struggle for the person to pick which aspect of the game they want to focus on. They will have to choose to spend their time farming for their PvE character or on their PvP character. Now if there was a way to make it so you could gain currency/items from doing general PvP activities, it wouldn't be such a big deal to choose, because now you are improving your character by playing PvP. As of right now PvP in general is just a currency dump for the rich. For those who don't have the extra currency to spend they are left in the dark. Not everyone has hours and hours to play, nor do they already have hundreds of hours already played. I don't think people should be given amazing items. People should still have to work for their gear, but something should be done to help those who are newer to gain some wealth(PvP wealth). The rich don't need more currency, they already have enough(probably too much to even use). People who don't have wealth need ways to at least get to the level of gear that would make a fair fight possible. Gear should matter. This is a gear focused game. That is something that needs to stay. What needs to be changed is the overwhelming advantages that gear brings. Peoples shouldn't be able to one shot each other. That's not a fun fight. Battles should last a while and should be on the person's skill and knowledge. Give people a reason to play PvP other than more alternate race rewards. You can already get these from doing races, which arguably are far easier to do and far less time consuming. Races don't require you to face unstoppable forces, and even if you aren't the best, you still get points. IGN - WazaBaza
