How does Block Chance Reduction Work?

Additive or multiplicative?
75-34=41%
vs
75x(1-0.34)=49.5%

Also does overcapped block work with this gem?

its multiplicitive, dunno about the overcapping though.

there is an old post about it. Over capping does not benefit.

I always thought it was flat reduction: target block - block chance reduction = targets change to block

Always assumed it was flat reduction based on the gems description saying "reduced" as opposed to "increased" not not "less". Have ggg confirmed it is a multiplicative reduction?

It used to be additive but they changed it to multiplicative a number of months ago. Can't remember when. Overcapping doesn't help.

Great example of misinformation = unnecessary levels of complaining. If people knew it was multiplicative instead of a flat reduction, they'd of realized they aren't at near 0 block. Damage has been done though, tears are the strongest form of balance persuasion.

Let's say i am wearing crest of perandus (40%) block. My enemy's gem has 20% reduced enemy block chance:

My block chance is now 32% if he wears the gem and it gives 20% reduced block chance of enemies.
