Fracturing race point levels are still too high
Comparing races 121 and 122; the first a 3 hour vanilla race the second 3 hour Fracturing Immolation:
At least 1 point (lvl 8): 706 vs 257 At least 3 points (lvl 16/15): 552 vs 131 At least 4 points (lvl 21/20): 374 vs 75 at least 5 points (lvl 25/24): 253 vs 34 at least 6 points (lvl 29/28): 152 vs 12 at least 7 points (lvl 33/32): 90 vs 6 at least 10 points (lvl 39/37): 15 vs 0 Player participation levels between the two races weren't anywhere near high enough to explain the difference; there were 1099 players (measured by distinct account names) in race 121 and 871 in race 122. My first idea about how to fix them would be to use an 80% scaling factor (from the player count). If the brackets were set correctly there should have been 12, 72, 122, 202, 299, and 442 people reaching each point level. This corresponds to brackets of: lvl 28: 10 points (12 players) lvl 20-27: 7 points (75 players) lvl 15-19: 6 points (131 players) lvl 9-14: 5 points (191 players) lvl 3-8: 4 points (296 players) lvl 2: 3 points (329 players) Unfortunately the bloodbath of low level characters resulted in the bottom brackets sagging far too low. My second idea was to look for a 3 hour BLAMT race and seeing what it's template would offer; but the only one I could find was a between season race that didn't give any points; that was something of a pity since with 75 lvl8+ chars from a playerfield half as large resulted in a race was slightly harder on newbies than this one (a max of lvl 21 meant it was much harder on veteran players). I fiddled with the bottom numbers a bit on my own and came up with this as a candidate: lvl 28: 10 points (12 players) lvl 20-27: 7 points (75 players) lvl 15-19: 6 points (131 players) lvl 11-14: 5 points (164 players) lvl 9-10: 4 points (191 players) lvl 7-8: 3 points (262 players) lvl 5-6: 1 points (274 players) I'd probably need to be tweaked some after use; I suspect the inclusion of several tiers between 8 and 15 would encourage more people to keep going past 8 (were 66 people at this level in 122); and a more attainable goal of 5 might boost the number of people who keep trying to get something instead of just rage quitting when the see how hard it is. Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? |

Fracture Immolation the brackets are fine. The main reason is that with 75% fire res you are litarelly immune to everything but a few expceptions(Bosses, Crematorium mobs) till Ebony barracks then lightning thorns really start to hurt.
Fracture normal needs way better brackets especially since they turn out to be pure ST races, making Fracture no projectile interesting. Fracture NP Turbo would be pretty much like blamt. Without NP it would be another ST race. |
