Can monsters be stunned and frozen simultaneously?

Just want to know if I freeze something and am trying to gain Endurance charges using Endurance Charge on Melee Stun, will I stun and freeze at the same time?

freezing them at the same time as stunning them just makes them freeze in the stun animation, but I do believe they can be stunned while frozen still.

Thanks for your reply. Would like to know if this can be backed up by anyone?
Yes, you will get an endurance charge if you inflicted a hit that passed a stun check, no matter if the target was able to react to it (get stunned) or not.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

An enemy cannot be stunned by a hit that caused freeze. Enemies can still be stunned while they are frozen.

I do not believe there is a stun animation.

Interesting, so essentially if I critically strike a monster with cold damage, it will freeze but not be stunned, and hence I will not gain an Endurance Charge from using the support gem. However, I can still stun the monster while it is frozen...

But what happens if my next attack on a frozen monster is also one that causes freeze? Will it stun or refresh the freeze duration? Or both?

Sorry I'm just trying to be as thorough as possible.

I believe it will extend the freeze by the appropriate amount. A hit that causes freezing will never stun.

Which is kind of annoying, since stun aborts actions (attacks, casting) and freeze does not, only pauses them.

a little bit of necroing here, but can we get rid of this counter-intuitive interaction?

it kills a whole lot of cold conversion builds for no apparent reason

how am I supposed to play a boneshatter of carnage cold conversion crit build? or any marohi erqi crit cold build?

It's a strange interaction for sure.
