ice spear freezer build?

I've been searching for a build for an ice spearist but can't seem to find an up to date one. I'm looking for something that locks mobs down pretty easily from a safe distance. Does any one know of one? Can be a totem build, I remember playing with someone that used ice spear and his damage wasn't bad, he froze everything and had a lot of curses to bring to the party. He hasn't logged in for some time for me to ask him about his build so I've been searching forums. It's for a new player, they don't know much about the game I figured it was a good first safe build for them.

Now grant it you wont get ice spear till you can run CoC. But if you run Hatred with phys dmg/crit throughout most of your leveling it will give you plenty of freeze.

Not a huge fan of CoC though :/, will look into it see if its viable w/o.

Well if your wanting a straight casting build that could be easily put together. The problem is that it gets REALLY expensive by the time you get to mapping.

was thinking of a double totem or self cast. probably double tot, I've seen old builds but they are out dated :(. Trying to find one thats up to date.

IDK if OP is still around but I ran a build exactly as decribed, it could have been me you played with lol.

Was playing as purely support for mapping.

Dual LMP Ice Spear Totems, Cold Snap Trap with conc effect, ele prolif etc etc.
Locked down everything so players could kill everything with little to no risk.

I ran triple curses, usually Temp Chains, Enfeeble and Ice/Ele weakness, or swapped that for something the whole party could more benifit from.

It was hard leveling, I did alot of the early game with freezing pulse, leveling the other gems I would need in other slots or other not-in-use weapons etc.

I would absolutely LOVE to remake this build but havn't been on PoE for a few years and there is so much new stuff and don't know what changes etc would effect it, so would probably need to rework it, maybe use some different support gems etc.
