PoE2 Random crashes / instant power cut since patch 0.5.X hotfix
|
System specs:
GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16GB Hellhound (Sept 2024) CPU: Intel Core i5-12600KF PSU: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold OS: Windows 11 Drivers: AMD Adrenalin 25.10.2 (also tested newer versions) Symptoms: Main monitor goes gray, secondary monitors go black, audio loops on a single tone, system requires hard reset. Happens during gameplay and in the currency exchange UI. Has also occurred at the login screen before even loading a character. What the logs show: Every crash produces a Kernel-Power Event ID 41 with BugcheckCode 0 — meaning the system lost power instantly with zero OS involvement, no BSOD, no driver error. This points to PSU protection tripping from a sudden power spike rather than any software crash. Hardware stress tests passed — system is healthy: 3DMark Time Spy Extreme + Steel Nomad: completed without crash, GPU peaked at ~290W total board power, max 65°C AMD Adrenalin built-in stress test (600s): completed without crash, peaked ~300W, max 65°C 12V rail under sustained load: min 11.71V, within ATX spec No thermal throttling, no driver TDR errors at any point Everything tried — none fixed it: Switched graphics API: DX12 → Vulkan → DX11 Disabled HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling) Disabled AMD Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost, in-game overlay Disabled Auto HDR Disabled XMP/EXPO in BIOS Ran PoEUncrasher in background Steam launch options: --noasync --waitforpreload Deleted shader cache Set GPU power limit to -10% in Adrenalin Windowed Fullscreen mode Rolled back to October 2025 AMD drivers It worked fine the first couple of days since the 0.5 launch but started happening around June 5-6, coinciding with the 0.5.1 hotfix Last edited by Daedra057#0572 on Jun 10, 2026, 2:40:46 PM Last bumped on Jun 9, 2026, 1:34:20 PM
