Throwing Lightning Spear through Voltaic Barrier instacrashes

Was trying out a new setup and it seems lightning spear if thrown through voltaic just hard crashes both me and a buddy on console instantly, I do have chain on spear so I'm guessing it is a projectile count issue and the new ones going through the wall? Either way my silly idea causes us to hard crash lol.
