Eyes of the RuneFather Base type bug?

Was hoping to play around with this shield with some shield skills. I wanted to use the armour version, but for some reason it makes the base type into a buckler? I'm not sure if its actually bugged, but doesn't it seem like the opposite of how it should be? IE buckler to shield vs how it is Shield to buckler?

Seems small but it being a buckler disables all shield skills.



If its intended design, I can live with it but hoping someone might look at it again.
