Voltaic Barrier instantly crashes my game

Im playing a spirit walker build and everytime i try to use the voltaic barrier skill it instantly crashes me and my buddy. ive tried adding/removing mtx and messing with settings and nothing helps. id really like to see the skill with my build. ive tried verifying game cache and other methods that seemed to work for some to no avail. for now ill refrain from use of it. please help.
