Can't enter Expedition Pinnacle Quest fight

I got the Triskelion Reforged and went to the meteor using Makoru. Put it in the slot and the Quest updated to "Take the Triskelion Reforged from Dannig" even though it was already in the slot. Clicking "Dispel" did nothing. I went back to Kingsmarch using Rodri and got another Triskelion Reforged from Dannig but can't do anything with it. Going to a different map let me get a new pack on the meteor island but the Triskelion Reforged is still in the slot and won't let me activate the fight. I also still have the second one in my inventory.

Update:
Managed to enter the fight. I dropped the duplicate quest item in the quest area (where you enter the meteor). Not sure if that step is necessary. Going somewhere else and returning didn't seem to fix it but I managed to use the "dispel" button by VERY tightly hugging the barrier. Should definitely either move your character automatically into position when you click the button or have a much larger range. It was incredibly frustrating to get into that fight.
