Campaign progression blocked in The Excavation

I just killed Benedictus and died to self damage right afterwards (playing infernalist). When I respawned, all the NPCs were gone and, though my quest log tells me to "Enter the Excavated Site" the door is not opening like it should. I am now unable to progress my campaign
