Expedition monsters not spawning

I had a really juiced Lush Isle, like 1400% exp and a bunch of currency chests. The first charge detonated a rune pillar, monsters didn't spawn, and now I'm just gonna have to abandon a good expedition because the rest of the chain won't continue. Waste of time lol.
