Mantra of Destruction, Am I Missing Something?
|
I started using this and it seems to be all over the place with regards to its functionality. Sometimes, when I activate it, it seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. I get the buff icon on my buff bar, I build stacks of what I'm assuming are the purple flames of Chahula, The buff timer starts.
However, sometimes, I get the buff, but do not have any stacks. But, more often than not, I activate the Mantra, and nothing happens. I have combo stacks, the skill icon is able to be activated, but no buff. I'm not being interrupted, as I've been sure to do it a little away from enemies, and I am sure not to cancel out the cast by doing anything else. I can see the animation, but after, nothing happens. Am I missing something or is this a bug? Last bumped on Jun 2, 2026, 2:29:15 PM

I think I may have figured this out part of the issue.
The text is really bad on this skill and is flat out misleading its functionality. It says that it will empower your next quarter staff attack to deal additional chaos damage. The blue text even shows you how much you will gain. This is not true. It also states that each kill with the empowered attack causes you to gain purple flames of Chayula. This is also not true. It says the buff duration is up to 8 seconds, meaning you have that much time to make this enhanced attack. That is also not true. Also, you're capped at 10 flames of Chayula, which is not mentioned. It's all lies!! How the skill actually works is that when you activate it, it tags nearby monsters. Only if you kill those monsters will you gain flames of Chayula, and only then will you gain added chaos damage to your attacks. You do not gain added chaos damage for one attack; you do not gain added chaos damage if you activate it within range of monsters. If you activate it and there are no monsters nearby, then nothing happens. This skill only works if you activate it within range of monsters, and only if you kill them, so this skill is meaningless against hard monsters like buffed rares or uniques, but is good for clear. Regardless, it still seems that sometimes, nothing happens, even when I'm near monsters when activating it. This skill's description needs to be totally rewritten and a closer look to see if it sometimes just doesn't work. |
