Map claims "complete all abysses" as object, but no abyss

Did abyss, then attempted map boss. Died to map boss, killed map boss on second attempt. Because of map "reset" the game doesn't think that I have completed the abyss and will not mark the map as completed despite life remaining and only 8 monsters left on map.
