Vaal Pact (UNUSABLE) removes life on new zone

The new vaal pact keystone does something to my character that removes all but 28 life (1% of total?) whenever I change zone. If I have full life when I exit a zone, I always enter the new zone with virtually no hp, which makes it unusable (since you cannot gain life from any other sources, including wells).
